Patel Taylor is a London-based architectural practice established in 1989 by Pankaj Patel and Andrew Taylor. The firm specialises in an integrated approach that weaves together architecture, landscape, and urban design, aiming to shape places from the city scale down to the human scale. Operating from studios in Clerkenwell, the practice is composed of approximately 50 staff members, including architects, urban designers, and landscape architects, who contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across the United Kingdom and in mainland Europe.

While not exclusively focused on student accommodation, Patel Taylor possesses significant experience in designing educational facilities that cater to student life. The firm's work in this sector includes the multi-award-winning Library and Student Centre for the University of Essex. This project, which comprises the Albert Sloman Library extension and the Silberrad Student Centre, integrates open courtyards and natural ventilation systems to promote environmental efficiency and flexible learning spaces. These buildings expand the campus's brutalist heritage and were recognised with the RIBA East Building of the Year and Education Award in 2016 for their innovative design, combining library functions with student support services. The practice has garnered over 40 design awards, including more than 16 RIBA Awards, underscoring its commitment to design excellence and innovation.
