Donnelly Turpin Architects was established in 1996 by Charlie Donnelly and Mark Turpin. The architectural practice operates from its base in Dublin, Ireland. Mark Turpin's professional background includes international experience gained from working in London, New York, Italy, and Japan, in addition to his work in Dublin. John Winslow, a Director, joined the practice in 1998 and brings 25 years of experience as a qualified Architect across both the UK and Ireland. He holds accreditation as an RIAI Grade 3 Conservation Architect and previously worked in Scotland and London.

The practice has developed experience across a diverse spectrum of building types. These include multi-unit residential developments, government facilities, institutional buildings, and commercial offices. Donnelly Turpin Architects has also undertaken projects for community facilities, such as swimming pools, leisure centers, childcare buildings, libraries, and interpretive centers. The firm has successfully completed several notable building projects, including Leinster House 2000, which involved a 10,000 sq m extension to the Houses of the Oireachtas. Other significant projects include The Irish Times Building on Tara Street in Dublin, The Swan Leisure Building in Rathmines, and the recent refurbishment and conversion of the N.I.B. Building on College Green, which now accommodates H+M.

Donnelly Turpin Architects has garnered recognition for the design quality of its completed buildings. The firm has received awards from the Architectural Association of Ireland (AAI) and the Royal Institute of Irish Architects (RIAI). Additionally, the practice was honored with the Europa Nostra Medal, an international award. Specific accolades include RIAI Awards for Rathmines Square in the Public Building and Best Public Space categories, as well as AAI Awards for Rathmines Square with a Special Award. The firm also received a commendation with a Wood Award for Glenavy.
