About

Cathedral Living Group (CLG) was established in 2013 as an award-winning operator and property development company. The firm is supported and partnered by a Singaporean Investment Fund, which holds over $750 million in assets under management. The team at CLG possesses extensive real estate development and operational expertise, which is complemented by an entrepreneurial management approach. The company has cultivated a local management team based in Northern Ireland, overseeing assets situated across the United Kingdom and Europe.

The company maintains a competitive advantage through its application of local market knowledge. This expertise enables CLG to manage the entire project lifecycle, from initial inception through to the operational phase. The firm collaborates with top-tier strategic partners and leverages strong local relationships, which have been developed over its nine-year history.

CLG has played a significant role in the development of the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) market in Northern Ireland. The company was the first to secure planning permission for a PBSA development in the region. Furthermore, CLG was the first to develop, construct, and operate Belfast's inaugural PBSA scheme, Mark Royal House, which was completed in 2015 and subsequently divested. Mark Royal House comprises 48 beds distributed across four storeys in Belfast City Centre and became operational in September 2015. Another notable project, 123 York Street, features 407 beds across 13 storeys in Belfast City Centre and was completed and operational in September 2019.

Beyond these completed projects, Cathedral Living Group continues to expand its PBSA portfolio. Planning permission was granted in November 2017 for an 11-storey PBSA development that will include 307 studios, each ranging from 18 to 22 square meters, with demolition scheduled to commence in 2022. The company is also undertaking a new build PBSA project with 194 en-suite bedrooms, designed to service students from Queen's University through a pre-let offer, with completion anticipated in August 2023. CLG has also negotiated and implemented a global operation partner to launch a new brand and assume control from a previous operator, achieving 100% occupancy. The firm acts as the exclusive accommodation partner for Ulster University, having entered into a nominations agreement in 2022.

While PBSA represents a core focus for Cathedral Living Group, the company's operational scope extends to other real estate sectors. The firm is also involved in commercial property, facilities management, and the hotels and hospitality industry. This diversified approach allows CLG to apply its development and operational expertise across various property types within the United Kingdom and Europe.
