Inspired Projects Developments has shared an exciting refurbishment update regarding the Student Castle York purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme. The refurbishment, which is currently progressing well, is an eight-week project that aims to enhance the facilities for students. Recent images from the site reveal significant progress, highlighting the addition of a new cinema room, the restoration of hardwood flooring in the stepped seating area, and the development of back-of-house office spaces. This transformation is a testament to the dedication of the team involved, and we look forward to providing further updates as the project continues to unfold.
The Facilities on Offer
Student Castle York is designed to cater to the needs of students attending nearby institutions, notably the University of York, which is conveniently located just a 22-minute walk away, and York St John University. The accommodation offers fully furnished private studios and twin rooms, ensuring a comfortable living experience for its residents. Additional amenities include full access to a 24/7 gym, dedicated quiet study zones, a private cinema room, engaging games areas, outdoor courtyard spaces, and a vibrant social lounge, all aimed at creating an enriching student life.
Expansion of Student Castle’s Portfolio
In April 2026, Student Castle made a significant leap in expanding its UK PBSA portfolio by adding 21 new schemes across prime regional and London markets, substantially growing its operational footprint. This expansion encompasses eight cities, including Aberystwyth, Birmingham, Leicester, Lincoln, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Nottingham, and Sheffield, reinforcing the operator’s presence in both established and in-demand student locations.
The new developments joining the platform feature a diverse range of properties, such as Alexandra Hall in Aberystwyth and Canalside in Birmingham, alongside others like Ben Russell Court in Leicester and Danesgate House in Lincoln. Furthermore, in London, several developments have been introduced, including Hawley Crescent and Garrow House. Locations in Manchester, Nottingham, and Sheffield have also been enhanced with properties like Daisybank Villas and Rockingham House.
