Overview
Aston Student Village is Unite Students' on-campus flagship in central Birmingham — 3,067 en-suite beds across five large detached buildings at Aston University, acquired in 2017 for £227 million in a 50:50 joint venture with Singapore's GIC.
The village is currently the only accommodation offered on Aston University's campus, serving a student population of around 11,000 with fully occupied, modern self-catered rooms in five-bed and seven-bed shared flats. Unite manages all campus housing in partnership with the university, with reception in the Harriet Martineau building on Aston Street.
The acquisition was Unite's first major on-campus purchase and takes the operator's Birmingham portfolio to over 5,000 beds. On-site gyms, communal study and social spaces, and 24-hour security support a community designed for students who want to be minutes from lecture halls and the library.
