Vita Student First Street

Vita Student First Street is a 279-studio purpose-built student accommodation building at 13 Jack Rosenthal Street in Manchester's First Street cultural quarter, completed in 2014. Developed by Select Property Group and designed by 5plus Architects, it was the first new-build Vita Student scheme in the UK — establishing the brand's premium, all-inclusive serviced model.

The building forms part of the wider First Street masterplan, which also delivered the Cornerhouse and Library theatre relocation, a four-star hotel, and extensive public realm. The 11-storey scheme provides exclusively self-contained studios, each with an en-suite bathroom, fitted kitchen, study area, and storage. A 5,400 sq ft ground-floor hub houses reception, lounge, games area, gym, movie room, and group study space.

Vita's all-inclusive offering covers utility bills, housekeeping, breakfast, Wi-Fi, and a programme of resident events. The building is positioned approximately ten minutes' walk from the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University. The distinctive diagonal façade — combining glass, metal, and perforated panels — was designed to reflect both the Vita brand identity and the creative character of the First Street district.
