Union Property Services has announced the successful completion of the Glasgow Citi View, a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) project located at 250 St Vincent Street. In October 2025, Union Property secured a finance facility amounting to £22.6 million with Paragon Bank to support the development of this significant scheme.
The Project Overview
The Category B-listed office building at the heart of Glasgow has been transformed to house 142 student beds, consisting of 140 studios, duplexes, and apartments, each equipped with its own en-suite and kitchenette. The project has introduced a range of amenities, including a gym, study spaces, and a social lounge, complemented by atrium artwork created by Efomural. This redevelopment not only optimises the use of an underutilised city centre property but also achieves an impressive EPC A rating, highlighting its energy efficiency while maintaining and enhancing the building’s historic features.
Collaboration and Community Impact
The successful delivery of this project is attributed to the collaborative efforts of an extensive team, including Clark Contracts and the design team comprising FaulknerBrowns, Paragon Construction Consultants, MS Construction Consultants, Bellrock Consulting, Apex Acoustics Ltd, Narro, RYBKA, Jensen Hughes, and iTransport Planning (iPRT Group). These partners played an essential role in preserving the heritage of the building whilst creating a modern, high-quality living space for students.
Strategic Location and Market Demand
Strategically located, Glasgow Citi View offers easy access to both the University of Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian University, making it an attractive option for students. This development is a direct response to the increasing demand for student accommodation in Glasgow’s city centre, which is part of broader urban regeneration efforts aimed at revitalising the area.
As the UK PBSA market continues to evolve, projects like Glasgow Citi View not only address immediate housing needs but also contribute to the long-term sustainability and attractiveness of city centres for students. With increasing enrolment numbers and a growing preference for modern amenities, the demand for purpose-built student accommodation is set to rise, offering potential opportunities for investors and operators in the sector.
