GMI Construction Group has officially been appointed as the principal contractor for an impressive £40 million purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) project initiated by Tiger Developments in Ardwick, Manchester. This development, located on Carmoor Road, aims to provide a modern living environment for students, incorporating 172 bedrooms in a combination of studio and cluster apartment formats.
Project Overview
The new accommodation is strategically positioned within walking distance of the University of Manchester and the bustling Oxford Road Corridor, making it an attractive option for students seeking convenient access to higher education. Once completed, the facility will be managed by Host Student Housing, which is the dedicated student accommodation platform of Tiger Developments. The project is expected to be ready for the 2027/28 academic year, reflecting a growing demand for quality student housing in urban areas.
Architectural Vision
The design of this ambitious scheme has been entrusted to Lechler Hayes Architects, featuring two interconnected buildings that will rise between three to six storeys.
