CField Construction has successfully secured contracts worth £176 million from Fusion Group to undertake two substantial student accommodation projects in both London and Glasgow. This agreement will result in the construction of a total of 1,269 purpose-built student beds, alongside 79 affordable housing units, with both developments scheduled to open in time for the 2028 academic year.
The London Development
The most notable aspect of this contract is the £97 million mixed-use scheme located in Wood Green, north London. This ambitious project will feature a 636-bed PBSA block, alongside the construction of 79 affordable homes and enhanced public realm areas, which aim to revitalise the local community.
The Glasgow Initiative
In addition to the London project, CField has also commenced work on a £79 million development situated on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow. This initiative will provide 633 student beds while preserving the iconic 1930s Art Deco façade of the existing structure. This project is part of a broader strategy to regenerate the city-centre site, which includes the reinstatement of the historic Wellington Arcade.
Strengthening Partnerships
These recent contract wins further solidify the ongoing partnership between CField and Fusion Group, as both companies continue to expand their footprint within the UK living sector. CField, which originated in County Cork, has established a presence in the UK market for around 15 years.
